LETTER FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope the New Year has started out well for you and your family! It is hard to believe that we have passed the halfway point of the school year. February is a month filled with kindness and positive energy. This is the month for kindness, friendships, and appreciation of one another! We want to take a minute to thank you all for the endless support of our teachers, staff, and students! Our focus has not wavered--we continue to focus on providing the best educational experience for our students, and that would not be possible without your continued and unwavering support. The students who walk through our doors deserve the best, and we strive to provide that for them every day with your help. 

As we are approaching our next Parent/Teacher Conferences, which will be held on March 13th and 14th, teachers will be reaching out to you to schedule those meetings. 

Finally, there will be no school on Monday, February 17th, due to Presidents Day!

Parent Portal

If parents or guardians need to update either their phone number or email address this can be done by logging into the parent portal. For any other household information changes, please contact our school and we will have you fill out the Household Information Update Form.

Technology and iPad repair fees can be paid with a debit or credit card through the parent portal as well.

February is Heart Health Month

Is your Heart Healthy? Here are a few ways to help your heart:

  • Exercise (30 minutes, 3 times a week).

  • Maintain weight

  • Quit Smoking

  • Decrease Stress

  • Healthy Diet

Do you know your baseline Blood Pressure?

Starting Feb. 1st – Feb. 14th, students and staff can go to the Health Office to have their blood pressure checked. Stop by the Health Office or email your Health Tech for a date/time for a screening.

REMINDERS

Pre-Packaged Food Items

Any food brought to the school for parties, events, etc. should be store bought and have labels on them. The reason for this is because we have students with severe allergies such as, but not limited to tree nuts.  We are asking that you refrain from sending peanut or tree nut products to school. Please reference student handbook.

Supervision – 8:10

School Starts - 8:15

School Day – 8:10-4:10

Office Hours - 7:55-4:20

At FES, we try to protect our instructional time. We thank you for helping us give teachers time to prepare for their classes in the morning. If you need to speak to a teacher after 8:00 am, we will ask you to leave a note or make an appointment. All visitors

will be required to sign in at the school office and obtain a visitor’s pass.

Thank you also for getting those after school messages into the office by 2:00 pm. This allows us to get messages to students with fewer interruptions and to ensure we have ample time to pass on the information.
